Case Study
Carrot Content Dashboard
Simplifies SEO content management and brings all content sources into one clear, actionable view.

Overview
I designed a centralized content management dashboard for WordPress, purpose-built to simplify SEO workflows and improve visibility across all site content. By consolidating posts, pages, and custom content types into a single, intuitive interface, the dashboard helps users track content performance, identify SEO opportunities, and manage updates without bouncing between multiple tools.

The Problem
Managing SEO-focused content on a WordPress site often means jumping between pages, posts, categories, custom post types, and external integrations. This scattered workflow made it difficult for users—especially small business owners and content managers—to get a clear view of all their content sources in one place. The goal was to simplify this process by creating a single, centralized dashboard to track and manage all content relevant to SEO.
User Research & Insights
Working with the product manager, we conducted informal interviews with site owners and assistants, focusing on how they currently manage content across their sites. Key frustrations included: not being able to track keyword cannibalization, difficulty tracking content performance, and missed SEO opportunities due to lack of visibility into the number and importance of their pages. Users wanted a simple, organized way to see everything in one place.

Ideation & Wireframing
Based on research findings, I sketched out several dashboard layouts focusing on clarity, ease of use, and actionable SEO insights. The designs prioritized showing post types, publication status, and SEO health indicators at a glance. I rapidly prototyped a few concepts in Figma and validated them with a handful of users for feedback on layout, labeling, and priority of information.

Design & Iteration
I built a high-fidelity prototype in Figma that included the user flows while using the new feature. The dashboard included a content at a glance, key content with SEO status indicators, and quick-create options for some of our automated content features. During testing, users appreciated the simplified workflow and suggested minor adjustments to improve hierarchy and visibility.

The impact
The new dashboard reduced time spent tracking SEO content for early users and improved visibility into underperforming posts and duplicate content. It provided a clean, consolidated view of all content sources, leading to faster decision-making and better content strategy alignment. In the long term it has shown to increase user engagement – if users interact with the dashboard they are more likely to engage with our other content features.
