About Katie

With 17 years of design experience, Katie is an accomplished Product Designer who previously worked as a visual designer (and a high school teacher!) before transitioning into the wonderful world of SaaS. She holds a graduate degree from the MFA Program at San Diego State University.

Currently leading the design team at Carrot, Katie has a versatile background in design, with previous roles at UC Davis and San Diego State University as a visual designer. She has also served as a Creative Director and Senior UX/UI Designer at various agencies and SAAS companies.

Katie enjoys tackling a broad range of UX and UI challenges, including user research, wireframing, and overseeing other designers. She has a keen interest and expertise in developing and sustaining design systems.

Driven by her passion for literature and words, Katie’s academic pursuits have always intertwined with her creative endeavors. She finds inspiration in the connections between graphic design, literature, philosophy, and typography. Fancying herself as a creative technologist, Katie is curious about emerging technologies and their potential to offer fresh perspectives on the world, especially in relation to written communication.

She also loves gardening, painting, and cats.
